Completing our International Women’s Day spotlight series on some of our inspiring women at Compass CHC, we’re profiling Ewa, Advocacy Director.
Ewa leads the Advocacy Team who represent families at assessments and appeals, making sure every client feels heard and understood and receives a fair assessment.
What do you love about your job?
I love seeing the real impact our work has on families – removing the financial burden of care costs, offering clarity during difficult moments, and helping people focus on what truly matters, their loved one.
Leading a skilled team of advocates allows me to multiply that impact and support more families with confidence and care. I genuinely love training and mentoring, and seeing my team grow in expertise and confidence.
How did you get to where you are today?
My move from Poland to the UK with limited English required rebuilding academically and professionally, but resilience, curiosity, and a drive to help others shaped every step. Reflecting on challenges, seeking feedback, and continuously refining my approach helped me progress from Paralegal to Advocate, to Advocacy Manager and now Advocacy Director.
What are your tips for success?
Be curious, prepared, and resilient. Anticipate challenges, think strategically, and adapt as circumstances change. Seek feedback, stay reflective, and surround yourself with people who help you grow. Success is rarely individual. It is built through collaboration, trust, and shared purpose.
What does this year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” mean to you?
It means investing generously in others – sharing knowledge, mentoring, and creating opportunities so women can thrive. Giving creates a ripple effect, when we invest our energy, expertise and belief in others, we build something greater. It strengthens teams, helps us support more families, and creates long-lasting impact across our organisation.
